Chanel Bois des Iles was the first woody fragrance created for women with an elegant little gingerbread feel. Is is reported Russian emigre Ernest Beaux was deep under the spell of Tchaikovsky's Queen of Spades (opera from Puskin's novel with themes of obssessoin and love) when he created Chanel Bois des Iles. Warmed woods and florals left sparkling by aldehydes. This is not as widely available, and it joined the Les Exclusives collection when it was launched as a series in 2007, but it is one of Chanel's most beautiful masterpieces.
This is the gorgeous extrait ov Chanel Bois des Iles.
