Description

Floris Malmaison is the queen of all carnation scents! Floris Malmaison eau de toilette sets the standard with notes of carnation, clove, cinnamon, lemon, rose, ylang, cedar, musk, patchouli and vanilla.  It is the most well-known of all the scents from the British perfume house of Floris and is rumored to have been the scent of Oscar Wilde.   Released at some point in the 19th century, it was reformulated and relaunched in 2000.   This scent has been discontinued and is almost impossible to find.  Don't miss this opportunity to try this perfect, enchanting carnation.  This is from the dark blue box with gold trim and the bottle is like the one depicted.

Reviews of Floris Malmaison

From Basenotes - "It's a beautiful sloliflore and very sad sad that this carnation scent is no longer produced."

From Now Smell This - "Malmaison is less assertive than the Garofano, and brighter, less old-fashioned than the Bellodgia. It is creamier and spicier than either, and while all three are powdery to one degree or another, Malmaison has a kind of cushiony-plush finish that gives it something of a pin-up girl air. It isn't "me", not by a long shot, but it is a really pretty fragrance, and a must-try for carnation lovers."

    Floris Malmaison Vintage

I purchased recently two samples of Floris Malmaison, that unfortunatly was discontinued due the impossibility to reper all the original ingredients. If you like carnation, that's it. I like the scent very much and find it decent and very elegant. Only a,to my feeling, too strong vanilla note prevents me to give a full note. If I have to choose a season, I'd say fall/winter.
