Alkemia Caveau des Innocents Oil was created by Sharra Lamoureaux and has notes of labdanum, vanilla incense, tobacco, coffee, rum soaked pears and caramel.
From the brand: "Paris 1905. Caveau des Innocents is the underworld hub of urban Parisian nightlife. Its clients a volatile melange of licentiousness and corruption - ladies of the night, a magistrate and his mistress, gangsters ("les Apaches"), farmers, philosophers, free-living writers, a foreign prince and a young duke. The promise of erotic debauchery and elegant iniquity beckons...Tabac, dark coffee, piquant cloves, rum soaked pears, candied citron, dark caramel, and star anise bathed in intoxicating swirls of opoponax, labdanum, hashish, benzoin resinoid, vanilla incense, and guaiac wood."
This is the oil. It is also free of parabens, phthalates, PDGs and other unpleasant things. Alkemia is a hand-blended and small batch perfumery using natural essences, ethically rendered accords, and lab-created aroma molecules.
As the Final Page Turns - "This is so complex and unlike anything I have ever encountered, this is an evilly brilliant masterpiece! ... If this was what the underground hub of elicit desires and wicked intentions smelled like: I WOULDN'T EVER WANT TO LEAVE OR SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY AGAIN! *fighting the urge again to bathe in this* The caramel and coffee with pear really stand out on me and the anise pulls me deeper into this gloom filled amazing place. This is perfect for the end of summer well into fall and winter. As it dries the coffee and anise with warm caramel dipped pears comes out the most and I even smell the uncleaned spattered wood that is listed in the description. This is the ultimate transporting scent and completely unique. Exactly what I have been searching for."
Alkemia - "Heady, sweet, warm and delicious to my nose as it possible. Intense rum soaked pears with anis at the start. A bit of tabac and piquant cloves with sweetness.
Indie Scent Library - "This is one of my favorites from Alkemia. It honestly smells kinda like an indie version of Angel. It’s for sure a sexy gourmand labdanum bomb, so don’t slather until you know you love it. It’s great for fall and winter, a little heavy for summer, would smell great on any gender. Dark, sweet, fruity, resinous."
Indie Scent Library - "This is an interesting dark and dirty, yet super sweet scent. It’s chaotic and debaucherous smelling. The combo of the resinous woody smells with the sticky sweet candy smells makes this very indulgent smelling, and maybe slightly overripe (but I’m kinda into that)."
