Alkemia Les Mysteres was created by Sharra Lamoureaux and has notes of aged frankincense, black figs, labdanum, dark amber, Russian tea, swirled with a trio of sensual musks.
From the brand:
"Fig, fruit of the female mystery, covert and inward,
Mediterranean fruit, with your covert nakedness,
Where everything happens invisible." -D.H. Lawrence
This is the oil. It is also free of parabens, phthalates, PDGs and other unpleasant things. Alkemia is a hand-blended and small batch perfumery using natural essences, ethically rendered accords, and lab-created aroma molecules.
Reddit - "The first whiff out of the sample offered the tea notes straight away. A pleasant black tea smell that's very soothing, like the comfortable, bitter, warm darkness of sleep (which is a cheesy way of describing it, but it's just so mellow!). The musks help give the tea an anchor. The fig is definitely there, with all its grassy/milkiness, but I can't detect it as easily. And the ambers mentioned blend extremely well with the teas."
Alkemia "Super unusual and well blended - it's hard to pick out the individual notes, and the combo is hard to describe. I find it to be a little much on initial application, but it dries down into something truly captivating."
Reddit - "I requested this sample because it's one of Salma Hayek's favorite perfumes. Les Mystères is described as being an opulent, resinous blend of aged frankincense, black figs, labdanum, dark amber, Russian tea, swirled with a trio of sensual musks... On the dry down, the frankincense starts to come through a little more and the perfume develops a creamy quality. I could see why she likes it, it smells like something an expensive niche brand would create. "
