Beaufort London is an expression of Leo Crabtree’s affinity for the sea, along with his fascination towards the darker aspects of British history. Named for the Beaufort wind force scale, the name represents a way to look at and understand ourselves: constant, enduring, ultimately changeable, and potentially destructive. With stories inspired by Britain’s past, this collection, entitled "Come Hell or High Water", draws together three unique and diverse fragrances to express this shared history and its tempestuous relationship with our modern image of ourselves.
Coeur de Noir was inspired by Leo Crabtree's grandfather's drawings of luxury yachts, his father's collection of nautical fiction and his own tattoos. It highlights these influences from his life with its unusual selection of notes. Ink lends its subtle metallic character to the top notes, alongside warmly spiced rum and aromatic ginger. A heart of leather and paper notes represents the bound books of a bygone age, with sweet vanilla binding the notes together. Coeur de Noir features top notes of rum, ginger and ink; middle notes of paper, leather and vanilla; and base notes of cedarwood, tobacco and birch tar. It is an eau de parfum, edp.
