Blackbird was first an award winning menswear store that opened in 2004 in Seattle. Nicole Miller, its founder and creative director, brought Blackbird to new heights in 2013 when she decided to focus on distributing the Blackbird brand internationally and closed her stores. Today Blackbird is known worldwide for its unconventional and remarkable fragrances and grooming products.
Aaron Way, lead perfumer at Blackbird, described the process of creating these unique scents as coming up with an abstract concept before any notes are discussed. Using a few rare or unusual ingredients ensures that their creations are both beautiful and distinct.
After the success of the Cold Cave x Blackbird incense collaborations, Blackbird grew obsessed with the idea of turning the Death incense into a black perfume. Inspired by Wesley Eisold's vision, they created an original and evocative scent that is both romantic and emblematic of all things Death. It features notes of leather, sage, marble dust and oud - a cold cave. It is an eau de parfum, edp.
From their website: Black is the night is the death of the day. Leather is the skin we are imprisoned in. Marble is the stone in which we immortalize our souls. Sage is the ritual in which we cleanse, heal and begin again.
WARNING: This fragrance contains black dye and will stain clothing so either wear all black or put on prior to putting on your clothing.
