By Kilian Apple Brandy is exclusive to the New York City Kilian boutique, launcing in late 2013. Created by Sidonie Lancesseur, Apple Brandy is an oriental Woody fragrance for women and men with notes of apple, rum, plum, sugar, oak, labdanum, ambroxan, cedar and vanilla. An intriguing fragrance that carries off the apple brandy smell, but adds a cunning plum note to it that makes it something more. Perfect for fans of boozy fragrances.

To me this is an outrageously boozy but not heavy scent, with the caramelized smell of a good bourbon, with an apple overlay. Love it, it lasts pretty well (although I run hot, so my perfume burns off quickly), the only downside is that there is no real change over time, no dimension. What you smell on minute one is the same smell at minute thirty.

The first thing I smell when I apply Apple Brandy is dense dark brown sugar, swiftly followed by a boozy storm. As I begin to wonder where the apple is I realize that it is in the sillage, not on my skin. The sillage is excellent and the scent lasts overnight. In the morning my skin smells like warm apple pie.

It's green wine candy in a snifter of brandy with a dash of Tabasco if you like that kind of thing.
