Byredo Reine de Nuit was launched in 2015. Part of the Night Veils collection, this is an extrait.
From Byredo's description - "Reine de Nuit is a testament to how empowering a rich floral perfume can be in the twilight hours. It revives the rich tradition of oriental perfumes and celebrates the intrinsic seductiveness of the rose. Reine de Nuit has a sensual and spellbinding scent."
Notes of blackcurrant, saffron, incense, rose, ambrette seeds, patchouli.
Founded in 2006 in Sweden, Byredo perfume's creator Ben Gorham (former basketball player) wanted to create perfumes of quality while keeping their production in Sweden. Gorham had been fascinated with fragrance much of his life. When he meet Pierre Wulff, a perfumer, Byredo came into being. Currently Gorham works with Olivia Giacobetti and Jerome Epinette to create his line of perfumes
From Fragrantica - "this fragrance does a brooding heaviness yete shot through with the most refreshing of freezes."
From Basenotes - "It is quite a dark but not too crisp patchouli that last any brutal harshness or sharpness. Unlike seen so often in other perfumery products, this patchouli, whilst emanently synthetic in nature, does not pretend to be a synthetic wannabe oud."
