Crystallised Sugar is a unisex amber vanilla fragrance that launched in 2020 and was created by Jean-Christophe Herault and Domitille Michalon Bertier. A new company, Corps Volatils, features a line of fragrance with 24 scents - 12 are 100% natural and 12 are 100% synthetic. Creative Director Nicolas Chabot states: “We wanted to put synthetic materials in the spotlight because they are often drowned in formulas”.
Crystallised Sugar features caramel and gourmand notes using a unique ingredient - Ethyl Maltol. Maltol is an organic compound (isolated from the larch bark, pine thorns and solid extracts of licorice roots) with a pleasant smell of caramelized sugar. It is formed during the roasting of malt and smells of caramel, toast and hazelnut and is used to recreate the tasty gourmand notes of praline, cake, chocolate notes, etc.
Corps Volatils Crystallised Sugar Reviews
Fragrantica: Very similar to Pink Sugar without the licorice! But not even near close to Pink Sugar’s projection and longevity. Still, I prefer Crystalized Sugar because it feels a bit more refined and sophisticated (ya, crazy that somebody can find a sickly sweet perfume to be sophisticated, but I do).
