Farmacia SS. Annunziata

Farmacia SS. Annunziata is an Italian perfume company originally founded in the 1500s by the Benedictine monks.  They have modernized how they make perfume since the days they were in St. Nicholas, but they still have kept the quality of the fragrances.

The original documents about this order’s existence did not survive one of a few French occupations – what part of Italy has not been occupied multiple times?   They can trace back the apothecary as it left the hands of the monks until it came into the hands of the Azzerlini family, who have had it for a fairly lengthy time.

Farmacia SS. Annunziata Ambra Nera is a rich amber scent, enlivened with notes of vanilla, benzoin and patchouli. It opens with a eucalyptus blast that’s pretty refreshing!

Kama is dusty books with some hints of salt and ink, maybe the monks bent over their writing on a hot summer day?  Notes of petitgrain, grapefruit, dog rose, rice powder, patchouli, musk, vanilla and ambergris combine to give this a little scent of leather.

Farmacia SS. Annunziata Vaniglia del Madagascar is all you want in a vanilla fragrance, a little sweet with authentic vanilla, a little bit cake and a little bit rich, but not completely all in on the sugar.  Notes of lemon, florals, amber, Madagascar vanilla.

Cara is a gourmand fragrance a little marzipan and marshmallow Fluff.  Notes of amber, caramel, almond, talcum and vanilla.  Rich and comforting.

Farmacia SS. Annunziata Hyle will whisk you away to a beach and all the smells there.  Not a warm tropical beach in Hawaii, but something more aquatic with notes of lemon, bergamot, myrtle, lavender, ginger, ozone, musk, juniper and patchouli.
