Guerlain Tonka Imperiale was released in 2010 as part of the L'Art et la Matiere collection. A gourmand oriental created by Thierry Wasser, it is composed around the tonka bean. - with its emphasis on vanilla and almond, with a lovely hay notes floating around, exudes a creamy sweetness and is historically one of Guerlain's often used ingredients.
Guerlain Tonka Imperiale has notes of rosemary, almond, tobacco, honey, facets of hay and balsamic, tonka bean, vanilla, Guerlinade accord. Tonka Imperiale is an eau de parfum.
From Now Smell This - "it veers off in other directions shortly: a bit of citrus, something strongly herbal and aromatic (that only registers as rosemary because I know it's listed in the notes), then loads of bitter almond, then dry hay + dry tobacco. By the 15 minute mark, it's foody and sweet; Sylvaine Delacourte of Guerlain describes it as "between gingerbread and chocolate", and to that I'd add amaretti cookies drizzled with honey. If that sounds overwhelming, I'll add that the richness of the opening does not last — it feels nearly transparent on skin, and the bitter and spicy elements counter the sugar nicely. It has less of a "vanilla comfort scent" feel than Spiritueuse Double Vanille, and after hitting a high point on the sugar scale at around 40 minutes, it slowly gets drier and woodier as it continues to develop."

Enough that I can never get quite easy with it."
This is such a quality scent. Adored it from the first spray. Its primarily tonka with a little almond and woods and not overly sweet. (Actually thought it would be a little sweeter than it is.) Would definitely say its unisex. Could easily be wore by either gender. Despite how beautiful it is I dont see buying a full bottle due to the price. Will have to rely on decants to enjoy this quality scent.

This is a lovely vanilla, slightly powdery with a tart edge and a smooth base. I don't want to love it because it's seriously expensive, but it's really delicious. Upside, it reminds me of BBW Smoked Vanilla, which is similar and much much cheaper. Not the same league of quality, but might prove a balm.
I consider this to be a femenine scent, too sweet for a men IMHO, yet I could see some men pulling this off, but unfortunately, not me.
I first put my nose on this fragrance in Detroit last year. Ordered a sample to give it another try and it still remains a beautiful skin scent. I wished the sillage and projection was a little more.
The initial blast of candied almonds is almost too much, and then the tobacco notes start to appear and make this perfume incredibly Yummy. It is very sweet, and soft and perfect for a cold winter day. My only real complaint is that it does not last very long and has a weak scent trail.
