Guerlain Rose Nacrée du Désert was launched in 2012, created by Thierry Wasser. Rose Nacree is a rich woody floral fragrance that is part of the Les Deserts d'Orient Collection. It showcases a magnificent Persian Rose specially selected by Thierry Wasser. Its characteristic essence gives a delicate, clever feel to this composition in which oud wood with smoky and amber accents finds full expression.
It features top notes of saffron, Persian rose and patchouli; middle notes of cardamom, curcuma (tumeric), cedarwood and oud accord; and base notes of myrrh and benzoin. Rose Nacrée du Désert is an eau de parfum, edp.
From Bois de Jasmin - "Rose Nacrée du Désert is understated and nonchalant, rather than in your face glamorous. It’s sexy in the same way that a fitted black shift dress can be irresistible. For this reason, it wears like a perfectly tailored jacket and it feels haute couture all the way."
From Kafkaesque - "ose Nacrée du Desert is a bit like reverse animation where the dying, wizened, blackened rose trails wisps of smoke before starting to spring back to life, straightening up, plumping up, turning more and more red by the minute. As it starts to re-awaken and bloom, it first oozes drops of darkened black-red, then treacly, thickly sweetened red, before finally, golden amber. Its dark thorns reflect brown wood, cardamom, and almost a suggestion of leather; the smoke dissipates; and all that remains is a candied, pearly, iced rose on a base of golden brown."
