Hermes Eau de Citron Noir is a burst of citrus fruits combined with the subtle smoky qualities and woody notes of black lime. This unisex fragrance was inspired by a very flavorful ingredient in Middle Eastern cuisine, black lime or noomi basra, which is dried lime. The main notes are black lime accord, lemon, black tea, citron and guaiacwood. It is an eau de cologne and in the Citrus Aromatic fragrance group. This fragrance is a 2018 release.
Eau de Citron Noir was created by Christine Nagel who had this to say about the fragrance: "Following a path through the olfactory universe of hesperidia led me into a vast world, dotted with surprises, with citrus fruits. Finger lime, Buddha's hand fruit, Eureka lemon... So many unusual varieties of citrus appealed to me, but it was the smoky and distinguished black lime that finally stood out as the key note."
from thecandyperfumeboy - "Eau de Citron Noir starts out vividly fresh and biting with a big ole blast of lemon, citron and lime. It is wonderfully juicy but it also has a palpable fleshiness to it that makes for an incredibly three dimensional experience. These citrus notes compliment and contrast each other, allowing for the perfect balance of freshness, sweetness and bitterness, making for a fully-rounded impression. For further contrast, a verdant leafiness brings a subtle but lush jungle effect. It’s an impressive start, for sure."
from basenotes - "The lemon opening on the top notes is quite bright and agreeable. Not super-bright, but a bit uplifting nonetheless."
