Description

Jovoy La Liturgie des Heures was created by Jacques Flori and released in 2011. Inspired by an old monastery filled with incense and the chanting of daily prayers.

Notes of Cypress, incense, olibanum, cistus, myrrh, musk.

Jovoy is a French brand originally launched in 1923 that failed during the depression and the Second World War.  Francois Henin re-created the house in 2006, as well as opening a large independent perfume store in Paris.

This is for a 1/2 ml sample of the fragrance.

Jovoy La Liturgie des Heures Reviews

Fragrantica - "Imagine an old catholic, sorta gothic church with a leaking roof, with an old basement with old newspapers laying around the base of the old Victorian heavy curtains in that basement. Now add some rain, with little steady drizzles of it falling through the old roof, on the old furniture, the drizzle leaking down the floor to the basement which wets the curtains. The furniture and the stored incense. That is what this perfume smells like old wet roof, furniture, curtain, and rain beaten incense and spices. It is gorgeous."

Fragrantica - "a church incense but not the one that comes out during the liturgy by the priest's burning-incense. but it is that wonderful smell that is felt in an empty church. smell of old church woods smell of the confessional, smell of the church benches. smell of church, this describes the perfume perfectly."
