Master Perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena, inspired by his love for Italy, has created a collection of Parfum Cologne that are portraits of Italian happiness. Bergamotto, Limone and Mandarino are fragrances in the collection “Viaggio in Italia” (A Journey to Italy).

Mandarino was created in 2020 and is a unisex citrus aromatic fragrance that celebrates the mandarin. It features notes of Italian tangerine, blackcurrant and white musk.

From Jean-Claude Ellena: It is the most joyous of all the citrus fruits. When I want to lend my fragrances a radiant smile (and I often do), I use mandarin essence. The advantage with Colognes is that they are made for the “layering” of fragrances. Mandarin Parfum Cologne is formulated to be both simple and sophisticated. It can be used for its own, but is also compatible with all fragrances and gives them the smile that you want to have on a specific day. What’s more, it is long lasting. So smile! You have been fragranced.

Laboratorio Olfattivo Mandarino Reviews

From cafleurebon: It is generously fruity and deliciously refreshing, the way a perfect glass of homemade lemonade is on a parched day. With a generous first spray, Mandarino unleashes a huge wave of vigorous mandarin and a tart blackcurrant the size of a bowling ball. Compared to other fruits in the orange family, mandarin has less astringency and more pulpy sweetness. Which is not to suggest that it has no zing – the opening is all drippy, tangy juice, with an herbaceous quality not unlike basil. This slightly anisic note adds a refreshing counterpoise to the fruit. Right now, Mandarino smells like that perfect summer cocktail you’ve been waiting for someone to invent.

In a short time, the sweetness gives way to facets of rind and green stem as the mandarin note rounds out. In tandem, the blackcurrant takes on darker berry notes so jammy that I almost want to spread Mandarino on toast. The citrus bubbles up again. For a while, the two fruits trip past each other in a lighthearted race, neither quite winning over the other, until they merge with some light skin soft musk.

From Fragrantica: Mandarino opens up with an explosion of juicy tart and slightly sweet citrus. It dries down and I get more green notes and a hint of fruitiness and musk. One can't be sad wearing this fragrance - it's far too uplifting. As mentioned in a previous comment, it certainly 'deviates from the typical bright' and may I add more boring mandarin fragrance in my opinion. This one is a stroll through a mandarin orchard on a warm bright morning as the sun wakes for the day.
