Description

L'Artisan Au Bord de L'Eau (At the Water's Edge) was inspired by an impressionist painting by Claude Monet entitled On the Bank of the Seine, Bennecourt. The painting was originally entitled Village de Bonnières but was changed to Au bord de l'eau; Bennecourt when it was exhibited at the exhibition Claude Monet - A. Rodin held in 1889 at Galerie Georges Petit in Paris.

L'Artisan Au Bord de L'Eau is a unisex citrus fragrance that features notes of bergamot, lemon, violet, musk, orange blossom and rosemary. This fragrance uses raw olfactive materials as if they were paint pigments, alternating between the apparent realism of the zest of bergamot and lemon - its freshness is mixed with the petals of the bitter orange and the more complex texture nestled below similar to how Monet suggests, without defining, the contours of houses that are reflected in the water. Au Bord de L'Eau is a cologne. This fragrance was released in 2017, created by Fabrice Pellegrin.

Reviews of L'Artisan Au Bord de L'Eau

From Basenotes - "Fresh citrus peel opening - the exact scent of peeling an orange and lemon where you can see the fruit oils jump into the air. Somewhat soapy almost green, very herbal that makes way for a woody-floral almost pettigrain note. Eventually Au Bord settles down to a nice violet musk with the bergamot coming out strong at the end and almost a good cup of medicinal tea quality to it."

From Australian Perfume Junkies - "There is something of a summer storm about Au Bord de L’eau, all bright and light and then a cooling, breath of wind rushing ahead of the clouds. The fragrance cools just a little."

    Really 4.5. It's not sweet

The absence of sweetness adds the half star. Lemon lime blend reminds me of summer nights although this a good choice for daytime
