L'Artisan L'Eau de Jatamansi is a unisex fragrance that was the line's first 100% natural, certified-organic scent and launched in 2007. It was developed by perfumer Karine Vinchon, and the notes include jatamansi (spikenard), clary sage, bergamot, grapefruit, cardamom, iced tea accord, Turkish rose, ylang ylang, patchouli, gaïac, vetiver, sandalwood, papyrus and incense. This is the original fragrance that came in the large bottle (250mls); not the reformulated fragrance that is available in the smaller regular L'Artisan bottles available now.
Fragrantica: "It is just so comfortable and enjoyable to wear. It's beautifully fresh, wonderfully green and exotic, mesmerizing wafts of floral nuances...It smells fresh, yet it has herbal richness that is very natural and comfortable to wear."
Fragrantica: "It reads as a delicately spiced sandalwood. I spray it on, thinking, gah, I have to use up these decants! Then I spend hours daydreaming... This is really beautiful, quite delicate, yet a haunting perfume, oriental, and old fashioned in its persistence."
