Louis Vuitton Cactus Garden was released in 2019, created by Jacques Cavallier, as part of the Les Parfums Louis Vuitton collection. Three were released together as a fresh, cologne-like scent as EDP - Sun Song, Cactus Garden and Afternoon Swim. A unisex fragrance with notes of mate, bergamot, geranium, lemongrass and incense.
From the brand - "The enthusiasm of mate to exalt the emotions. The cool freshness of an exotic patio. A breath of leaves defies the heat wave like an enchanted frisson on the skin. Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud invites mate, that singular tea from faraway lands into a perfume that expresses the atmosphere of a tropical forest. It comes together with powerful and voluptuous Calabrian bergamot, while tangy, bright lemongrass illuminates this extraordinary garden. To complement the light within the Cologne Perfumes, Maison Louis Vuitton asked the Californian artist Alex Israel to surround them with creative radiance. He envisioned a joyful design with pop colors that celebrate this summer without end."
Louis Vuitton is a French luxury fashion company - famous for their gorgeous and distinctive bags and the LV monogram. Founded in 1854, it was folded into LMVH, which has the brands of Moet et Chandon, Hennessy and Louis Vuitton.
Colognoisseur - "Cactus Garden is a fragrance which captures pool society in the desert. To do this M. Cavallier wanted to set up the dryness of the desert with the wet pulpy inside of the cactus. When I’ve been hiking in the desert scooping out the pulp of a cactus is refreshing. It is a contrast to the aridity of the atmosphere. Cactus Garden reflects this."
Basenotes - "The opening of Cactus Garden shows the lemongrass with tart lemon peel aroma and almost a lime green mint note as well. The mint fades fast and also the lemongrass loses strength quickly as it blends into the dry leafy Mate tea aroma. Through most of the wear this doesn't smell like cactus, and is not green smelling like the bottle color would indicate, but has a dry herbal tea note at the end - exactly like a fresh cup of mate tea with a spritz of lemon."
Fragrantica - "This is EASILY one of my top warm weather frags. Something about it is just intoxicating to me. Such a natural bergamot scent that mixes flawlessly with the green tea and lemongrass. It starts off fairly loud for the first couple hours and dries down to the skin but still lingers for a good while. I've smelt this the following day when applied to my hair and clothing."
Fragrantica - "To my nose it's the most underrated fragrance in all of perfumery. If reviewers talk about les Colognes at all, it's Afternoon Swim they mention, but this is far more creative and much nicer. This actually smells like a real cactus garden with an earthy/green blend that makes me feel grounded and in touch with nature."
Fragrantica - "Beautifully clean, green, cool, breezy breath of fresh air. The same instantaneous puff of calm and refreshment you get from stepping into an air-conditioned florist's shop from hot and humid city streets outside. Great swell of naturalesque, not screechy or sharp or chemical, citrus at first with bergamot & lemongrass doing great things for a dismayingly brief first act ... maybe up to a half hour. The zing subsides - but more like 'shades imperceptibly into', because this is smooth and classy stuff - into mild, gentle, but still intriguing lemon-grass-drying-into-mate tea."
