Maison Martin Margiela Mutiny was launched in 2018. The perfumer is Dominique Ropion and it is the first scent under the creative direction of John Galliano. Mutiny is an oriental floral, centered on tuberose with notes of jasmine, orange flower, apple, peach, pear, pepper, patchouli, saffron, oud and vanilla.
It took six years for Ropion to come up with Mutiny, using the traditionally feminine note of tuberose. Drawing on three qualities of tuberose: tuberose heart, tuberose absolute and MD tuberose, Mutiny has an unexpected leather accord created with saffron, oud and vanilla beans. Orange flower and citrus notes add a freshness to the typically heady white flower, transforming it from a classically feminine scent into something more elusive and fluid.
Maison Martin Margiela Mutiny is an eau de parfum, edp.
