Maison Martin Margiela Replica Dancing on the Moon is part of the new Reproduction of Familiar Fantasies collection from Maison Martin Margiela's Replica line. There are four fragrances in the collection. It stems from their first collection, a concept of memories and emotions transformed into scents, but takes it a step further expressing human fantasies.
In wording from their website: "Imagine the defiance: a lone dancer robed in white swirls gracefully across the dark side of the moon beneath a spotlight, their ethereal moves casting pale shadows on the lunar landscape. In one hand a bouquet of opalescent white flowers shines with a mineral glow."
Dancing on the Moon features top notes of aldehydes and datura; middle notes of jasmine, frangipani and iris; and base notes of cashmeran, ambergris, musk and vanilla.
It is an eau de parfum, edp.
Fragrantica: "Dancing On The Moon: this scent is so warm, rounded, feminine, dense and sweet in a perfect and sensual, not too cloying way."
basenotes: "But the florals are really only half the story. It's the complicated chemistry around them that really defines Dancing On The Moon. There's a sexy floral grit that calls to mind Black Orchid (but minus the filth), and a salty bodies-on-the-beach smell, and there's something in there that makes the whole thing smell like shampoo as well."
