Ellen Covey started tinkering with her huge collection of essential oils in an attempt to recreate the scent of an orchid. Soon she realized that it was not enough to simply recreate the scent of an orchid but she wanted to formulate it as a conventional perfume that would be wearable. She established a line of handcrafted orchid-inspired fragrances in 2010 and has added an increasing number of perfumes that are inspired by places, nature, culture, and fantasy. All of her fragrances are made using the highest quality ingredients with a high percentage of essential oils, absolutes, tinctures, and other natural materials. All products are formulated to be on the high end of their concentration range. Parfum is 25-33% fragrance materials and eau de parfum is 15-25%.
Dev One represents the early phase of the story told by Sheila Eggenberger in her novel Quantum Demonology, where the female protagonist is being tempted and seduced into a deal with the devil. It’s the scent of falling in love against one’s better judgment and features bright top notes on a dark and foreboding base. Dev One is a parfum.
