Description

Puredistance Black is the 2013 release from this luxury perfume company, created by Antoine Lie.  There are no notes listed for this fragrance as they company's founder wants you to experience this in the dark - “Deep beauty is best experienced in the dark. Envision. Smell. Feel. Don't analyze. Today's trends to know everything (and to show everything)--to mute our feel of intuitive beauty. Puredistance Black treasures the beauty of the unknown." I took a guess at some of the notes, because, well, why not? Incense, oud, patchouli. It is a smoky beauty that is more shadow than dark.
 
Part of my review at Perfume  Posse - "It doesn’t strip naked for attention, it just sits on my skin and smokes a bit, then smooths into a rolling field of shadows.  There are few scents that keep changing hours in, but Puredistance Black does. Like some enchanted perfume cauldron, it blows apart in airy puffs and reforms as something the same but new. I think they could have called this one Shadow.  It shifts and moves and never really comes into sharp view. It’s the night we all wish for – one not that scary, not that dark and not that lonely."

    an excelllent scent!

    This is a stunner! " sunshine on your face, not hiding its glory" kind of scent. I loved it straight from the bottle before it ever touched my skin. for me, It opened rich warm and moderately deep, not smothering or too richly skanky, a fresh spiciness, warmed by amber and rose, is how it came off to my novice nose. A lushness emerged an hour or so in, like that deep red tea rose my lover just gave me for no reason. I sense some amber (maybe) in the heart of this. Its awesome. The rosiness commingles with the spice in a playful comforting way that make my brain say "ah, I feel better all of a sudden!". I would love this on a guy or a gorgeous butch lesbian, for sure. Sillage moderate, longevity a little better than average. Well worth it, I may consider a FB in the near future.
