A lily amongst the thorns. The fragrance was inspired by Picasso’s Les Demoiselles d’Avignon and with the name Iron Maiden we were expecting a darker fragrance but La Vierge de Fer is rather delicate. It starts out more jasminey and the lily comes in later. It is more of a soft, intimate floral fragrance with none of the notes you would expect from the marketing materials for this fragrance.
According to Fragrantica the fragrance also pays tribute to Serge's own mother and past traumas for the semi-abandonded Serge (much like a device of torture would reference), who was left to the safekeeping of relatives by his mother at a tender age. This fragrance is in the floral fragrance group.
