Forest Lungs was created to support dealing with every day stress through scent. Using chemistry and patented technology, these are the molecular compounds you would find in a forest, phytoncides. Those are the chemicals that imbues stress reduction and boosts our parasympathetic response.
It is a unique, memorable and great scent. I can't speak to the other parts of it, but it has a forested cumin vibe that surprised me.
Notes are listed as woody, smoky, tart citrus.
Colognoissuer - "It starts with an accord of pine and cedar. A lot of time pine smells like a Christmas tree. M. Flavigny uses the cedar to make it more expansive. Like that scent of the forest as you walk through it. As you trek you also release the earth beneath your boots. M. Flavigny takes patchouli leavened with vetiver. The latter adds the green connectivity between the patchouli and the woods. The final little surprise is a bit of benzoin to represent the droplets of sap on the trunks."
Perfume Posse - "Spray it on and, whoa!!! Who dumped the cumin in the well-being happy forest? Am guessing this is just a cedary cumin artifact, but it sure smells borderline cumin and in the best way. It’s a little bit smutty, but a prim smutty, like a bit of dew on a lip in summer – Musette’s bodice ripper post is contagious apparently. Drydown is more woody with a little pepper in there. What pine is in there is a soft pine, not room freshener pine. This is just blended beautifully between the woods, green and incense, and it has been the most surprising thing I’ve smelled in a while. Not just because it was quite a bit off from what I expected but because it is just gorgeous."
Fragrantica - "Quite dark and spicy and lucky for me I love that! After a while it mellows into a nice atmospheric scent that lingers in the room. More subtle and fresh with a touch of green."
Fragrantica - "The opening of this is very strange, and I am still trying to put my finger on what it is. It has a certain funk to it, and I honestly don't love it, but don't hate it either. It is a rooty, earthy, ancient funk. However, this fades pretty fast and it becomes more and more enjoyable every minute it is on...This is a very dry, smoky, earthy forest scent. I was expecting more green, pine, lushness- this is not that... I enjoy it more with each wearing, and it reveals more subtleties each time. "
