Description

Bass Solo was created by Bertrand Duchaufour and is an aromatic tribute to wenge wood. Wenge is an extremely hard wood that is often used for musical instruments because they require dense woods for better sound. Wenge does not necessarily have an aroma, but being beneficial for music and beautiful to the eye, it inspired Duchafour to extract deep and vibrant accords hidden within. According to The Vagabond Prince's website: "Bass Solo offers an aroma pitched in the lowest register; its dense melody is composed of a selection of woody notes including soft sandalwood, salty driftwood and a blend of cedars with their comfortable, dry nuances. Smoky tar and velvety peach flow through the veins of the wood."

Bass Solo features top notes of saffron, ginger, lime and cardamom; middle notes of lavender, Moroccan cedarwood, Virginia cedarwood, fig milk and birch tar; and base notes of sandalwood, amber, driftwood, wenge accord, musk, opoponax, amyris and patchouli. It is an eau de parfum, edp.

    The Name Says It All

Smells just as the name would suggest- I love the boozy black currant that is cooled to a nice night fragrance with the balsam and carnation. The spices are just underneath but add the right transition to the warmer drydown of a blunted patchouli and vanilla. Perfect for late fall.
