Tom Ford Jonquille de Nuit (night jonquil, otherwise known as narcissus) - opens with a dark, smooth narcissus (jonquil), angelica, mimosa and cyclamen, smoothing out, coated with orris and amber warming a little, but keeping a chilly aspect. A beautiful, unique rendition of narcissus.
Tom Ford Jardin Noir (Night Garden) series for his Private Blend Collection was released in the fall 2012. He told the New York Times, when asked about this new series, "'When you showcase their [the flower's] darker and less innocent aspects, flowers can become so thrilling and beautiful, they could almost ruin you. That was the sensation I was after."
From What Men Should Smell Like - "Jonquille de Nuit is a vibrant fresh floral I enjoyed wearing on my recent holiday. Maybe it was my holiday mindset, but for me, it is a perfume that feels carefree and adventurous. I don’t see it gaining widespread appeal amongst males as it is overtly floral, but men who enjoy wearing such things should enjoy this novel flower."
Tom Ford Private Collection has released a prodigious number of fragrances, ranging from the amazing to the weird to the slightly kinky. Not all of them are masterpieces, but they usually are as interesting as Tom Ford.
