Tom Ford London was released to celebrate the opening of Tom Ford's London boutique and it is part of his Private Blend Collection. It is not available in the United States.
Tom Ford London is really fierce - it is smutty and dirty in all the best ways with cumin wafting about with its animalic little fingers. Layered over a lot of woods and leather. Once you just get past the cumin bomb on the open, it is gorgeous.
Notes of black pepper, saffron, cardamom, coriander, cumin, coffee, geranium, jasmine, incense, cistus, oud, musk, birch tar, Atlas cedar and torchwood.
Tom Ford Private Blend has released a prodigious number of fragrances, ranging from the amazing to the weird to the slightly kinky. Not all of them are masterpieces, but they usually are as interesting as Tom Ford.
Reviews of Tom Ford London
From Candy Perfume boy - "In the base, London glosses out to a much softer and sweeter affair. The main player is vanilla, an oriental staple that in its use here adds sweetness (only a tad – this vanilla is very much on the drier side of the scale) and maintains the fragrance’s overarching theme of rich smokiness, engulfing the spicier and animalic facets to make for something that is altogether more plush and intimate."
From Dear Scent Diary - "It starts very peppery, spicy and complex. The oud and cedar are in the fore from the start. When sprayed lightly, it’s a peppery, spicy (cardamom, cumin) incense and wood scent. Sprayed heavily, it’s very dense like many TF Private Blends can be – dark oud cloaked in spices and smokey incense, and with a sweet almost candied floral heart."
