Description

Tom Ford Tobacco Oud joins Oud Wood and and Oud Fleur in the Oud series. It is a woody spicy fragrance.

It does nod its head to its inspiration, the now-iconic Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, which was created by the same perfumer. Instead of centering more around vanilla, it centers on, um, you know, oud.  If you are a fan of Tobacco Vanille or were wanting a darker woody version of it, Tom Ford Tobacco Oud is a fragrance you must try.

Tom Ford Oud series in his Private Blend Collection released in the late fall 2013, and Tobacco Oud is part of that series.  Notes of oud, tobacco dust absolute, coriander, cistus, labdanum, cedarwood, patchouli, sandalwood, roasted organic tonka bean and castoreum.

Tom Ford Private Collection has released a prodigious number of fragrances, ranging from the amazing to the weird to the slightly kinky. Not all of them are masterpieces, but they usually are as interesting as Tom Ford himself.

Tom Ford Tobacco Oud Reviews

From Perfume Posse - "If you liked the idea of Tobacco Vanille or Amber Absolute, but thought it was like getting punched in the nose with an amber-vanilla beehive, you might give Tobacco Oud a try. It’s not heavy on the oud, lacks a lot of that medicinal quality, but there’s enough in there that you won’t have to roll your eyes at the use of Oud in the name of the fragrance.  The amber is not heavy, it’s dry and veers more towards the lovely amber in Parfum d’Empire Ambre Russe (less the marauding Russians drunk on vodka)."

From Now Smell This - "Tobacco Oud opens with the scent of dry leather and raw tobacco leaf with a wisp of skank. The tobacco isn’t fruity like cherry pipe tobacco, but ashy like stubbed-out cigarettes. A touch of amber and vanilla keep the fragrance from being too sharp. After half an hour or so, what smells to me like jasmine tingles through the tobacco, wood, and vanilla, making into perfume something that could have just been a reproduction of gentleman’s tobacco fresh from the wooden humidor with a vanilla bean and leather club chair nearby. Still, the jasmine is tightly boxed in an oriental casing of wood, amber, tobacco, and leather, and no one would call Tobacco Oud “girly.”
