Description

Tuberose is a voluptuous and intoxicating white floral. Known as "the carnal flower" (Roja Dove also calls it "the harlot of perfumery"), tuberose has a very powerful scent and it takes over 3600 kilos of petals just to produce half a kilo of tuberose oil.

You will receive a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler. You also have the option of choosing a 1ml sampler.

Miguel Matos Burnt Flower - Tuberose, being one of the queen flowers in perfumery, has already been done in every single way, you have smelled it all before, right? Wrong! Burnt Flower is a smoky tuberose, the most erotic flower of all, and here, it is burning in desire. It's flames of lust were so high, it just got burned. What's left is just flames of tuberose, still bearing the strength of the living flower, but covered in charcoal and ash. Almost gothic and very dark, but strangely comfortable, Burnt Flower is tuberose like you have never smelled it before. With top notes of grapefruit, cinnamon, bergamot, mandarin and cade; middle notes of clove, tuberose, iris and coconut; and base notes of cedarwood, castoreum, suede and animalic notes. "This isn't a perfume. It´s a piece of olfactory art. It uses safe ingredients only, but can cause reaction in allergy-prone skin. Test on a small patch of skin. Non IFRA compliant." ($1.68 for 1/2ml)

Pilar and Lucy Tiptoeing through the chambers of the moon - Smoldering amber and seductive tuberose come together in this enigmatic and soulful elixir. ($.92 for 1/2ml)

Gritti Doped Tuberose EDP - The infinite horizon of the desert, the mysterious shadows, horses being ridden at breakneck speed by the princes of the sky. In a moment, everything stops. The encounter with a woman whose beauty I have long searched for and now found. With top notes of bergamot, lemon and lavender; middle notes of tuberose, jasmine and frankincense; and base notes of patchouli, benzoin and cedarwood. ($1.05 for 1/2ml)

ArteOlfatto Tuberose Vanilla Extrait de Parfum - A dizzying scent that leaves an enchanting and seductive trail; with the awareness not to go unnoticed. With notes of tuberose, vanilla and jasmine. ($1.31 for 1/2ml)

Estee Lauder Tuberose Gardenia EDP - Created by Aerin Lauder, granddaughter of Estee Lauder. She honored her grandmother by creating Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia in 2007, using the two flowers that Estee enjoyed the most. Other notes are orange flower, jasmine, white lily, neroli, lilac, rosewood, carnation and vanilla bourbon.

Frederic Malle Carnal Flower EDP - Created by legendary perfumer Dominque Ropion, Carnal Flower is the carnality of tuberose wrapped in the glorious fresh green from an opulent bouquet of flowers. It allegedly contains the highest amount of tuberose ever included in a perfume. With notes of tuberose, bergamot, melon, eucalyptus, ylang-ylang, jasmine, white musk cocktail, coconut and orange blossom absolute.

Serge Lutens Tubereuse Criminelle EDPThere's no good way to introduce this beloved Serge scent except to just say it - this is the weirdest experience of perfume you will ever have.  From the blast of camphor at the open (you may make a face like "the Scream" when you sniff it", when you are thinking at any moment you will choke, much less figure out where the tuberose is hiding, to the moment about an hour in you will be walking through a room thinking "man, who smells so freaking amazing" and realize it is you), this is just an experience you have to take. You may wind up hating it or loving it, but you won't be indifferent to it. It took me a few tries and some years to develop the deep love I have for this scent, but it is there, and I don' stop at dabbing it, I spray the darn thing on, throwing caution and self-respect to the wind and head out to the grocery store trailing ethereal tuberose sillage through the cereal aisle like Gloria Swanson in the Final Phase Crazy Days. This isn't just perfume, Tubureuse Criminelle is entertainment.
