Cosmopolitan: There's something I need to share with you all, a secret that I have tried so desperately to hide but am finally ready to admit to both myself, and the world. I am a basic bitch. I love doing #autumnal things, I have a glittery pumpkin phone case, I can't wait to get my Uggs out again this winter, I love Ryan Gosling and regularly watch The Notebook when I need a little cry, I have bought a Kylie Jenner Lip Kit (and a KKW Contour Stick) and wow, this is harder to say out loud then I thought, but I've used the phrase "I can't even" more than once. But one person who is encouraging us to embrace our inner Basic Bitch is perfumer, Killian Wells. Described as the Damien Hirst of the perfume world, you won't find Killian creating your run of the mill sweet/floral scents. Instead his perfume brand Xyrena is designed to bring back certain memories and transport you to a different time and place altogether. But our favourite out of all of Killian's scents has to be 'Basic Bitch', which Killian told us was inspired by "Instagram models" and "the majority of the Los Angeles population (both guys and girls)." With notes of pumpkin spice latte, your favourite Nicholas Sparks novel and of course suede Ugg boots, we think we've finally found our signature scent.
Fragrantica: Say what you will. It's not for everyone. Quite artistic. Killian's fragrance description kills me. I enjoy most of the fragrances. Not all, but they are fun. What I do like about this line, "Certified vegan and cruelty-free by PETA!"
