M. Micallef perfumes is a line of French perfumes that started in 1997, created by Martine Micallef and Geoffrey Nejman. Specializing in niche perfumes, Micallef decorates many of their bottles with crystals.
On a trip to France a few years ago, we ran into a M. Micallef perfume shop in Cannes, and it was surprising how many perfumes they had that had never been available in the United States! There are more available now than there was, but it is not the entire line. To see all the perfumes they have, you really have to run into one of their shops in Europe.
Micallef makes very rich scents, vanilla-based or oud-based. They have the Nejman line that specializes in men’s fragrances. The perfumers for the line are the two owners. New in 2012 was a Vanille collection and Ylang.
Micallef Shanaan is one of their most beautiful fragrances, a rich incense with notes of patchouli, amber, incense, emon, petitgrain, cedar, labdanum and musk. Vanille Aoud has been one of the line’s best-sellers, a rich gourmand vanilla with notes of bergamot, ylang, plum, aoud, caramel, musk, vanilla and benzoin. Geoffrey Nejman is the creator of the Vanilla Aoud perfume. Note Vanillee has been out for a while, since 2007, but it also continues to be one of the strongest in this line, with notes of mandarin orange, jasmine, sandalwood, amber, vanilla, rum and cognac.
M. Micallef is an interesting French perfume company, and their perfumes have a very distinctive feel and theme, and one that is well worth discovering to see if it fits your personal style!
