Retro Dana Ambush Cologne
The scent is exactly as I remember. Love it!
Dana Ambush Cologne is an Oriental Woody fragrance for women that launched in 1955. It was reportedly created by Jean Carles based on Canoe for Men. This version was discontinued sometime in the 1970s and in 1997 Ambush was reformulated with modern ingredients featuring top notes are kiwi, lavender, papaya, sage, bergamot and lemon; middle notes are passionfruit, carnation, rose and geranium; base notes are sandalwood, tonka bean, vanilla, heliotrope and praline. This version has been discontinued as well.
Fragrantica: :"spicy soft floral opening that dries down powdery and smells like nothing else; light, young, innocent, sexy, pretty"
Fragrantica:"Soft and powdery. What a "lady" would wear. Not something typically sexy, but quietly flirty I think."

A woman can coax you. She can bait you. She can bribe you. Taunt you. She can tease you. A woman has many tactics. Should you give her another one?

There was a great magazine ad that was broken into 12 small ads with a woman answering the question - Where do you Ambush?
"On my bicycle.
Ask my boyfriend.
In my hair.
On the Brooklyn Bridge.
I’d tell you, but you’d tell my Mother.
On my neck. Want to take a whiff?
On my wrists, throat, behind my ears, behind my knees and on my ankles.
Outdoors, indoors, any place at all.
All over my body, baby.
Can you keep a secret?
I’ll never tell."
Interesting to note, is that Ambush is part of the Smithsonian's collection of cosmetics and personal care products displayed at the National Museum of American History.
Both versions of Ambush have been discontinued.
This is the original 1960s cologne version of the fragrance.

Ambush smells great. It was birthday gift for my sister. She remembered our grandmother wearing it.

Absolutely prefect!
Why did they ever stop making this? This is by far one of the best fragrances ever. I am so glad I found this again with you. I want to always be able to buy this retro cologne.
I would recommend this company to anyone...for anything!! What a genuine FIND! I love what they do, and they have the most rare perfumes--the best part is, they make it affordable for everyone!! I'm so glad I found them!! This was my first buy from them, and have made three more purchases since. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!!
