Description

Tom Ford Noir de Noir is one of the original 12 fragrances released in the Private Blend collection. A rich dark chypre oriental fragrance focused on a dark rose sprinkled with chocolate, vanilla and patchouli. It earthy and sensual fragrance. It is a bigger, badder, darker Tom Ford Black Orchid. Rumor around is that Noir de Noir was an early version of Black Orchid - eh, who knows? Notes of saffron, black rose, black truffle, vanilla, patchouli, oud wood and tree moss.  Noir de Noir was created by perfumers Jacques Cavallier and Harry Fremont.

Reviews of Tom Ford Noir de Noir

From Kafkaesque - "If the royal medieval dynasty, the Tudors, had a perfume to go along with their rose emblem, I suspect it would probably have been something like Tom Ford‘s Private Blend Noir de Noir For Women and Men. It is a scent that is as rich, baroque, lavish, and earthy as the bawdy, gourmand Henry VIII himself. Noir de Noir is not the delicate flower of Diana, Princess of Wales, whom Elton John called England’s Rose. No, this is Henry VIII’s prime rib to Diana’s scones and clotted cream."

Luca Turin - gave it a four-star rating

From Temptalia - "It develops into a sweet, but earthy, foreboding rose scent marked by almost chocolaty notes. There are hints of a general floralness playing in the background, along with a very muted and almost forgotten vanilla. Noir de Noir is spicy and woody and built around rose."

    Noir de Noir

Noir de Noir is a sweet, dark scent. It reminds my wife of an old lady, "but a really nice, intelligent older lady with lots of money." It's sophisticated, warm, with something sensual about it. Worth the price you pay if you enjoy dark, gourmand smells, but better if bought at less than retail, and probably best if worn in the winter.

    noir de noir

I didn't really get why so many positive reviews, it smelled good at the top but shortly lost it's candor drying down to a sickly sweetness as they say ymmv! Gave it three stars since I kind of enjoyed the opening.

    Masterpiece

A dark masculine rose dipped in chocolate (with a little bit of oud thrown in). Excellent longevity and sillage. Very expensive but worth it. Simply, a masterpiece.

    Wonderful scent for a date!

I love this scent and would consider this one as signature scent. It's dark and lovely.

    Profoundly dark

Like the darkest, earthiest rose imaginable. This is the dark perfume I've been looking for. Insanely expensive, unfortunately, but I have to have more of it.
