Weil Zibeline was created in 1928. This is the parfum VINTAGE pure parfum/extrait version. Made to remind you of a sable fur coat, this floral woody balsamic has top notes of lemon, cassis, peach, bergamot and grapefruit, heart notes of jasmine, lavender, gardenia and freesia on base notes of cedar, patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla.
From Cafleurebon - "Zibeline is an inebriating cocoon, a talismanic perfumed intoxicant. It is very much old-school in the finest manner- by this, I mean that no expense had been spared in its creation. Money was no object.
From Fragrantica - "I picture this perfume to be ideally worn by Hollywood female mega-movie stars in the last century's early '20s/30's .... Theda Bara, Lillian Gish, Marlene Dietrich and Greta Garbo. This is the kind of perfume that is distinctively old, but one that no perfume manufacturer would produce today, not only because the perfume tastes have changed dramatically, but also because they mostly use artificial essences no days rather, than pure essential oils."
From Perfume Smellin' Things - The drydown of Zibeline is balsamic and honeyed, with soft sandalwood and sweet amber and tonka bean, and with a healthy helping of dirtiness supplied by civet. Dark golden-brown, smooth and silky like the most expensive sable manteau, Zibeline is elegant and warm, dressed up and amazingly versatile. It is most certainly worth an effort to find and to get to know before it disappears for good."
From Basenotes - "It starts out with a cherry almond note, which is spicy and sweet, then moves to a rich floral melange that manages to smell vintage without smelling old-fashioned. The warm, balsamic base notes carry the floral medley into the dry down. A true classic in its complexity, balance and beauty. They don't make them like this anymore.
