Description

Yves Saint Laurent Babycat was created by Dominique Ropion and released in 2022.  An amber spicy centered around YSL's leopard print that first appeared for YLS in 1968. Babycat has quickly achieved cult status (both love and hate!), it was a limited edition release that is still not available in the United States and is sold out everywhere.  We are all hoping for more of it soon!  Notes of black and pink pepper, elemi, olibanum, saffron, bourbon vanilla, suede and cedar. Babycat is an eau de parfum, edp.

Yves Saint Laurent Babycat is part of the Le Vestiaire des Parfums Collection.

From the brand -

"No one has gone wilder for the sensual feline flair of the leopard print than Yves Saint Laurent. It was first sighted in the couturier’s collections on a silk dress in 1968.

A sensual reinterpretation of this couture icon revisiting the emblematic woody family and its powerful longlasting trail. Babycat twists the animalic subtly warm suede accord with a suave sensual vanilla, for a sulphurous yet sophisticated scent. A feline pattern a wild fragrance for the unpredictable. Living at the edge of life."

Yves Saint Laurent Babycat - Le Vestiaire des Parfums Collection (YSL) Reviews

Fragrantica - "To me, personally, Babycat smells like Papier d’Arménie. Not when it’s burning but when you get it out of its package and first smell it…it has that feel to me and I • L O V E • I T. Is is sweet vanilla? No, not really, not to my nose, at least. It has a tinge of sweetness but do not expect vanilla cupcake here. Is it the incense bomb that everyone mentions? Not to my nose. It has a slight smoky-ness to it but this isn’t the incense church bomb that you can smell in old churches at all. To me, and on my skin, this stays shy and very discreet with a beautiful daim/suede quality that envelops me in a cozy cocoon. I love it. And keep in mind I don’t like leather accords in my perfumes so that’s saying something…Pure bliss"

Fragrantica - "The warm slightly animalic purr lingers on skin in a very seductive way. Truly love it! I think it is not overly sweet and the omnipresent Vanilla has some sexy grace."

Fragrantica - "Simply magical. Vanilla heaven. It smells so soft, simple and yet luxurious, like a nice new black leather bag haha. The vanilla here is not sticky sweet, it's almost aromatic but still warm. It has just the right dose of incense to make it mysterious. Absolutely in love with this."

Fragrantica - "Holy smokes, I just LOVE Babycat. Its rare for me to like all the stages in a perfume equal, but here it is. I will say that this scent is just as good on a woman and a man, totally unisex."

Fragrantica - "Opens with strong burning tire note, very similar to Rosendo Mateu 5 and drydown is Cecile Zarokian smooth vanilla similar to Nishane Ani. Overall, this is a masterpiece from Dominique Ropion, very surprisingly without rose accords."

    Believe the hype

The scent does purr and curl. Not flowery
