Description

Surrender to Chance is proud to announce their two new all natural fragrances created by La Via del Profumo/Dominique Dubrana of AbdesSalaam Attar. Dubrana is a self-taught perfumer who creates perfumes using only natural essences and tinctures from his perfume lab in Rimini, Italy. His creations are so beautiful that he is the only natural perfumer to be included in Luca Turin/Tania Sanchez's "Perfumes: The A-Z Guide". The four perfumes included in the book all received four stars so we are very honored to have our fragrance created by him. Luca Turin had this to say about his work with AbdesSalaam Attar The Scents of the Soul - "He's one of these very rare examples of a natural-born perfumer. He seems to be incredibly sure-footed, in a way which reminds me of Francois Coty. I love his fragrances. I don't think anyone can touch him in the field of natural perfumery."

Cold Water Canyon was suggested to us by a friend and long-time customer who asked for a fragrance inspired by the scent of a summer canyon full of sage, pine and mountain plants with sweetly scented night-blooming jasmine perfuming the night air. Cold Water Canyon is a perfect balance between a green perfume and a floral. It is an eau de parfum, edp.

I grew up in Nichols Canyon near Coldwater Canyon, which we called just Coldwater. I had to try the fragrance with this wonderful name. It did evoke old memories. Unexpectedly, the scent reminded me also of gardenias from high school corsages. I'd been wanting that sort of scent, so enjoy this one!

    Fresh, herbal, woody.

I've only been to the Grand Canyon, and can't recall it smelling like this. That would have been nice! Never the less, I like this fragrance. It does capture an outdoor essence of dry, crispy grass, herbs, flowers, and something smoky perhaps? Like you're camping out on an awesome smelling prairie (yea, I'm a Midwesterner). Definitely a unisex scent.

    Hiking in a canyon

This is a great perfume! It really captures the open-air feel one would associate with a canyon landscape.
