Tom Ford Noir Cologne was released in 2012, joining his signature perfumes - Grey Vetiver, Tom Ford for Men, Black Orchid, Black Orchid Voile de Fleur, Violet Blonde and White Patchouli.
Tom Ford Noir is a spicy aromatic fragrance. Ford refers to the new fragrance as "Enigmatic, complex and surprising" and believes it is one of his most satisfying perfume adventures so far. He uses violet to create a surprising somewhat powdery top, as well as releasing the fragrance as an eau de parfum, which is unusual for men's fragrances. Noir features notes of bergamot, verbena, caraway, pink pepper, violet, black pepper, nutmeg, Tuscan iris, geranium, Bulgarian rose, clary sage, opoponax, amber, Indonesian patchouli leaf, vetiver, civet and vanilla. From Bois de Jasmin - "The plush drydown is another surprise awaiting you a couple of hours later. Here Tom Ford Noir pulls all of the oriental plugs–earthy patchouli, smoky leather, dark amber, sweet benzoin, and animalic civet. Generous lashings of vanilla and musk give the composition a cozy, warm glow. In contrast to Habit Rouge, the animalic growl is subdued, but the incense and amber stand out. Tom Ford Noir has tremendous lasting power and sillage, and a tiny spray is enough to be wrapped in Noir for the whole day."

Tom Ford Noir is a TF Private-Blend-worthy fragrance at an affordable price. It is my favorite from the Noir line (though I’ve yet to try Athrocite). It is a sweet, pleasant, unisex leaning masculine scent that worth the money you spend. 4/5 for me, but only because it’s not something I’d wear personally as a signature scent. Received as a gift? Without question.
