4160 Tuesdays The Big Smoke is a dry, smoky woody amber eau de parfum launched in 2023, created by perfumer Sarah McCartney. Named after London's old nickname from the days when fog mixed with coal smoke, it is set in 1950s London and made as an amber without vanillin. It has notes of tobacco, vetiver, white birch, cardamom, aldehydes, labdanum, frankincense, dark patchouli, cashmeran, cedramber, ambrox and musk.
From the brand - "You find your way through a swirling mist of musks, finding your way inside a candlelit wood-panelled library, the warm waxy aroma quietened by soothing labdanum, blended with incense for a hint of absolution."
Fragrantica - "...The first time I tried it, it seemed a masculine scent and quite challenging. The more I tried it, the more I liked it and I'm now on my second bottle. ... I can't think of any other perfume quite like this. ..."
Fragrantica - "This is my first try of 4160 Tuesdays The Big Smoke, a dry smoky woody resinous blend that is big in terms of smoothness and well-blendedness but not overly loud or spicy or ashy. ..."
Parfumo - "Opens bright and fresh, then dries down to a spicy, resinous tobacco and woodsy fragrance. It is perfect for colder weather but opens up and smells amazing on warm skin. ..."
Nose Prose - "...My “hint of absolution” feels like a blaring slogan on a blimp, because I get the frankincense in megadose, and it makes me imagine the whole scene as yellow. ... I haven’t smelled anything like The Big Smoke before, and I keep coming back to this creation by perfumer Sarah McCartney. ..."
