Akro Bake was launched in 2023, created by Olivier Cresp. A delicious vanilla lemon cookie gourmand with notes of lemon zest, rum, whipped cream, praline, bourbon vanilla and brown sugar. Akro Bake is an EDP, eau de parfum.
From the brand - "At Akro, we don’t have a lot of restraint. The temptations of everyday life are at the heart of what we do, and continue to inspire new scents and ideas. One of the aromas of modern life we find most alluring is that of bakeries and cake shops, the scent of fresh pastry and sticky sugar brightening up the most humdrum of days. One of our favourite bakeries in all of London is Carnaby Street’s Crumbs & Dollies, and inspired by their famous lemon cupcakes, we created a new perfume: BAKE. BAKE is a fascinating scent; made up of tart lemon notes, followed by sweet vanilla and rich, nutty praline. It’s so good, you might not even need that naughty cupcake or extra patisserie after all.
Fragrantica - " am so happy. A fresh and light gourmand. I am enveloped by a scent bubble that is soft, sweet, and clean. There is even something delicately floral there, but I will attribute it to the lemon zest and vanilla flower. Perfect and appropriate to wear in all seasons. I will not compare this to X's Lira or any of the popular & trending TikTok gourmands that are burnt sugar/caramel-heavy. In this world of assorted gourmands, Bake is unique in its sophistication and sashays to the beat of a different drum. It does not screech for attention, but it beckons gently and intrigues from up close. I can say that Bake is a close cousin of Coquillette's Cookiecrunch, or Hilde Soliani's Quin Italian Meringue, but these two do not compare."
Fragrantica - "Off the top it is tart, sparkling lemon with an iced sugar finish. Smells straight up delicious. The lemon comes across highly natural ala Acqua Viva but here it's even better balanced, smells like a rum soaked drizzle cake. I can't stress how photorealistic the image of a drizzle cake is at the opening! Later on the more gourmand facets & the bakery appeal start to come through. Then it smells more like a sponge, albeit a yummy one with the lemon never going away. Like the previous Awake it is never too sweet or overdone, if you like gourmands Bake is a must smell!"
Fragrantica - "It's a very literal fragrance smelling like lemon meringue pie and on skin, the longevity was about 4-5hrs. There isn't quite a gourmand fragrance quite like this and like Akro's Awake, this one will be a hit when it's released. There isn't a perfumer out there that does gourmand frags quite like Olivier Cresp."
