Avon Christian Lacroix Absynthe was launched in 2009, created by Laurent Le Guernec. Notes of wormwood, anise, freesia, saffron, narcissus, artemisia, orchid, woods, myrhh, ebony wood and amber.
Fragrantica: "This is basically a warm amber-y floral with a slightly green dry/woodsy bitterness throughout. I honestly think it is perfectly suited to the name and the absinthe colored bottle. that sickly sweet licorice is overdone, this fragrance is very special and unique, I cannot express my love for it enough"
Fragrantica: "A very unusual and mysterious perfume.
Its slightly herbal, bitter, but in a good way. People will wonder, what is that note? (artimesia).Green and woodsy, slightly soapy and also floral but without being in one of these specific categories. But the green imagery is correct. It wears like a shimmery green bodysuit.
Its sexy but maybe a bit dangerous feeling."
Fragrantica: "Absynthe is a woody-aromatic composition but it's not over bitter and it has sweetness and warmth. What I really love about this scent is that it's not just woody in the base, you get very prominent woods from first spray to dry down. Absynthe opens with the bitter wormwood and a little anise spice followed by freesia and that remains the strongest floral note for me."
