BDK Parfums Vanille Leather was released in 2023, created by Dominique Ropion. Honoring vanilla gourmands with a modern sensibility, it melds white florals with a very persistent suedey violet to keep it from being a cupcake. It is rich and elegant. Dominque Ropion taking on vanilla is a thing worth sniffing. We are all in love with it here at STC! If you hate violet, though, it may not be for you. It has a pretty insistent violet sensibility.
Notes of violet, pink pepper, jasmine, orange blossom, tuberose, vanilla, leather, orris, benzoin, oak and patchouli. This is currently only at Harrod's in London until fall 2023, when it will be more widely available.
Dominique Ropion - "I love this fragrance because it’s a mysterious and audacious perfume, paying tribute to the majestic vanilla. My intention was to combine the precious vanilla pod with a bouquet of white flowers to slowly reveal its warm and sensual personality. The vanilla is adorned with the sulfurous and slightly honeyed tones of tuberose, then drinks in the powerful sweetness of jasmine and finally melting into the round, carnal notes of orange blossom. To intensify the trail, I chose to work around the notes of oak wood and patchouli.” –Dominque Ropion."

Fragrantica - "This is crazy amazing, sense it going very viral very fast. Probably my fav from BDK after having smelled like 90% of their fragrances. It's perfectly unisex, unlike others from this house that claim they're unisex but are instead very masculine. Full bottle worthy !!! For me, this replaces TF Tobacco Vanille. They don’t smell alike but they give me a similar vibe just because of the vanilla + leather/tobacco. Leather & tobacco remind me of one another, since I’m a woman I associate those two with masculine scents. I don’t have much experience with a leather note but in here it’s so creamy and beautiful. Reminds me also of BDK Velvet Tonka (my other BDK favourite), but Vanille Leather is not as light and is more masculine giving it the perfect unisex quality. God this is so good."
Fragrantica - "Addictive!! Amber florals wrapped in delicate leather. I mostly get candied violets, vanilla, soft leather and patchouli. This is elegant and different. The drydown is delicious, like caramalised vanilla, burnt caramel vibes (no smoke factor though). If you want an elegant smelling vanilla frag, if you like violets and leather, this combo is a win. It leans more feminine to my nose. This would be bomb in the colder months."

For those expecting leather, sadly this doesn’t appear in the fragrance which makes me wonder why it’s called Vanille Leather. But my goodness! This is one that had me dancing for joy.
