Description

Bread notes are not very common in perfumery, but when done well, they are great to smell! These perfumes all have bread notes.

Your sampler pack will include a 1/2 ml sample of each of the following scents:

  1. Death & Floral The Soft Crunch of Bread and Bone - French Madelines, bakery air, vanilla and macarons
  2. Demeter Rye Bread - rye bread
  3. Frederic Malle En Passant - Bread & lilacs.
  4. Jousset Le Gourmand - croissants  and chocolate
  5. Masque Milano Lost Alice - bread and butter, tea, milk, scones
  6. Serge Lutens Jeux de Peux - Bread, spices, licorice & apricot.

You also have the option of choosing larger sizes.

    Very fun intro

What can I say? Bread is an unusual note and can be challenging. This collection has a nice variety. It's got literal rye bread, gourmand fragrances, and sophisticated works of art. Not all of them are what I would wear, but I had a lot of fun sniffing them and expanding my horizons. Whoever selected these did a good job.

Bread implies safe--These perfumes are not

Frederic Malle En Passant -very nice lilac bomb, so soft and fresh, I don't get any "bread" but love this one (maybe a bit of a light bread quality on the fade just the soft, slightly sweet well rounded aspects of bread) L'Artisan Jour de Fete - Milder version but very much of the same mind as Jeux de Jeux Serge Lutens Jeux de Peux - This is a tough one. On first smell I was not a fan. I got burnt sugar upfront and very strong (verging in a headache) after that initial note fads the rest of the perfume is so soft and lovely. Weirdly after multiple pairings I started to like that first assaulting note...if you can stand it and pay attention to it (and trying it in very light application) it opens up and you get a milk, bread and soft burnt sugar at the boulagerie vibe. But this is really not for everyone, and you have to be willing to have multiple experiences with it.
