Relaxed and warm
Apple to greet you and then smoky like sitting next to oak log burning in the fireplace. I feel like I’ve had a brandy to night cap.
By Kilian Apple Brandy On the Rocks was launched in 2021, an update on the original with a little more chill. Created by Sidonie Lancesseur, it has notes of cardamom, bergamot, rum, pineapple, vanilla, apple, brandy, moss, ambroxan and cedar.
Review of By Kilian Apple Brandy
Fragrantica - "To me this is a smokey, woodsy fragrance that is understated, complex, and high quality. I like smokey alcoholic beverages so I have an appreciation for something like this. Not a typical sweet bomb that some weirdos like in the fall and winter. Not a synthetic bomb like Legend and Fierce either. To me this is more like a flanker to a smokey batch of Aventus."
Fragrantica - "It's like Apple Brandy was parfum extract and Apple Brandy on the Rocks was EDP. At first that fruity and slighty synthetic note (pineapple with ambroxan that I've previously mentioned) bothered me a bit at first, but I think I got used to it. The drydown that I have mentioned above has something else too - it's dry and a little fizzy, a little sour and sparkling like a good champagne, but that changes into oak with a little bit noble alcohol infused centre. I wouldn't say it's rum though - rather a grape distillate, like brandy or maybe even cognac. The deep drydown is a little bit sweeter and that's when it reminds me of Frapin 1270 a bit - excluding dry fruits, which Frapin 1270 is full of."
Fragrantica - "It’s just delightful. The perfect fall fragrance. I’ve found my next full bottle purchase. It smells like a fruity dessert on me, but smells very strong like cinnamon on my mom weirdly? Pineapple, cardamom, vanilla, and rum come out to play. It is somewhat linear, but that’s what I want out of this fragrance. Sooooo delightful. Kilian is so talented at making these scents."
