Description

Byredo Mojave Ghost Absolu is inspired by the ghost flower, a rare species that blossoms in the Mojave Desert in the US southwest.  The original was launched in 2014 with  notes of sapodilla, ambrette, magnolia, violet, sandalwood, ambergris and cedar. This is the Absolu version launched in fall 2024.

From the brand - "In an act of olfactive artistry, the Absolu de Parfum distills the iconic notes of Mojave Ghost into a pure essence of even greater intensity. With fresh Jamaican Nesberry, powdery Violet, floral Magnolia and the lingering woody character of Sandalwood, familiar ingredients are extracted in a higher concentration to create a longer-lasting scent with profound depths."

Founded in 2006 in Sweden Byredo perfume's creator Ben Gorham (former basketball player) wanted to create perfumes of quality while keeping their production in Sweden. Gorham had been fascinated with fragrance much of his life. When he meet Pierre Wulff, a perfumer, Byredo came into being. Currently Gorham works with Olivia Giacobetti and Jerome Epinette to create his line of perfumes.

Byredo Mojave Ghost Absolu Reviews

Fragrantica - "kept bringing our palms to our foreheads to smell it throughout the day— it's somewhat addictive and longevity is amazing. The original Mojave Ghost I found so fleeting that it was hard to really understand it, but with the absolu I can finally grasp the full scent profile. It's really nice and cozy and sheer. The unusual sapodilla note for me definitely shines through."

Fragrantica - "Stunning. Sweeter and stronger than the original. Stronger projection, sillage and longevity. Less shampooey and more musky powdery violet with fruits, woods and amber! Lovely. I love both this version and the edp."

Fragrantica - "For newbies, this is how Mojave Ghost USED to smell when it first came out. I have an original bottle and this is it."

Fragrantica - "The Absolu version is richer and deeper in its scent, with a bit more sweetness. Of course, the amber in the base makes the fragrance warmer. Overall, they’ve refined what was missing in the predecessor. The longevity of the Absolu version is impressive as well, lasting about 7-8 hours on the skin. And on clothes the scent stays for several days. I’m not a fan of the EDP version, but I found Absolu one quite lovely ."
