This is perfect except...
I adore this, smells just like sunscreen to me. The only part that sucks is the water perfume really doesn't last unfortunately. I believe CB I Hate Perfume has/had an "absolute" version, too bad they dont carry it here.
CB I Hate Perfume At the Beach 1966 is a day at the beach with Coppertone, seashell, salty skin, ocean. Summer at the beach. Created by Christopher Brosius, this is the Water Perfume.
Fragrantica - "I LOVE IT! Personally, it takes me back to a lost and more innocent time in the early 1970's and long summer days at the swimming pool and the beach. If I close my eyes, I can almost hear the song "Wildfire" playing over the loudspeakers... Ah! The memories this scent invokes."
Fragrantica - "One of my absolute favorites. I used to wish for someone to come out with a perfume that smelled like coppertone and finally it happened. As a native Californian, I've worn coppertone suntan lotion on my skin my entire life. Coppertone is the scent of summer to me. It is fun, free, great music, a hot fun in the summertime kind of feeling. Thank you Christopher Brosius for creating this scent that makes me incredibly happy when I wear it."
Fragrantica - "I'm an Australian born in 1967 and spent every weekend and holiday at the Gold Coast. I remember driving into Surfers Paradise at night, we would pass a huge neon sign advertising Coppertone. It pictured a little girl sporting a dark tan with a dog pulling her bikini bottom down to reveal the white tan line. A bit cheeky but it always marked the beginning of the holiday. Straight to the beach with coppertone and little else! At the Beach 1966 has captured that memory completely. I am lying in the sweltering heat, hot skin, slight humid breeze blowing and sending gentle wafts of coppertone to my nostrils. I can hear the dull roar of the pounding waves and squeals from children each time a wave comes in. Soon, it becomes uncomfortably hot, and I'm a bit sticky with some sand stuck to my leg. My biggest question- should I get up and have another swim, or just lie here and enjoy the sun a bit longer?"

Very lovely, beachy scent, the only reason for the 4 stars is longevity.

It's not bad.... But there's none of the coppertone fragrance I wanted
This is just the perfect fragrance for me. Such a unique smell; it reminds me so much of my friend's hometown of Melbourne, FL where I loved to visit during the summers in college. Salt, sand, old-formula coppertone sunscreen... very photorealistic of a beach. Just beautiful. Super nostalgic. Like all of the CB water perfumes, it doesn't have a long wear time, but I actually like that since my husband is sensitive to fragrances. I consider the water perfumes more of a scent moment to experience than something to wear if you want to leave a scent trail behind all day.
ordered CB I Hate Perfume "At the Beach 1966 water based perfume sample. I absolutely Love love love this perfume. I could be addicted, EXCEPT... IT LASTS ONLY ABOUT 20 MINUTES! This is sooo disappointing as I would be odering this often as not to run out. The water based was recommended, but I wonder if this is the problem, maybe the absolute would last. Might try that. I was carful not to layer it over any lotions or other products, but it just does not last long at all.
