Dirt, or soil, is a thin covering over the Earth's surface. Soil is a mix of eroded rock, mineral nutrients, rotting organic matter, water, air and lots and lots of small living organisms. The top layer of soil called the Surface Litter Layer and the next layer down, the Topsoil Layer or Humus, are full of that great earthy scent. This is a very popular note in fragrances today.
Christopher Brosius of CB I Hate Perfume says: “Dirt is still a note I use in a lot of my work. I've always thought dirt resonates so strongly with everyone because at some point in everyone’s childhood everyone has played in the dirt.” Of course, Brosius points out, the dirt you grew up in might be very different from the dirt that I played in, so olfactory recollection varies enormously, which is why CB I Hate Perfumes makes close to half a dozen fragrances with strong dirt notes. “The smell itself is so archetypal,” he says. “So it's always recognized and loved.”
This sampler features fragrances containing a "damp" earth or dirt note.
You will receive a 1/2ml sample (1ml sample vial filled half full) of each of the fragrances in this sampler. You also have the option of choosing a larger sized sampler.

From their website: Year 3030: human extinction has allowed flora to propagate wildly, bursting through concrete and rigid architectural structures. the skin of the earth has restored itself to a microbially-dense state. soil bacteria celebrate wildly as rain showers dampen their surface. damp gives you a taste of this future; it’s a gentle whisper of a musty room in the middle of a forest, the breath of the earth as wet soil. Damp features notes of dampness, wet soil and earth.
