Honey Metal
This perfume has two main notes listed (honey and metal), and Death and Floral nailed them both. The honey scent in this perfume is very realistic to me. I’ve always thought honey smells both sweet and mildly tangy, which exactly matches what is presented in Honey Metal. Don’t expect a simple, sweet honey scent like you would get with a gourmand perfume. For the metal aspect of Honey Metal, I didn’t personally perceive any steel or iron or oil notes. What I DO get is copper. The reviewer who said that Honey Metal smells like blood is 100% correct. The metallic scent is warm, coppery, a little salty, and brings to mind pools of blood. On its own Honey Metal is easily overwhelming. When I first tested it out it actually made me nauseous. The longevity is impressive – it does not fade even after a full days wear and the scent stays rich and powerful even after the dry-down. While I won’t be wearing Honey Metal again alone, I think there is a LOT of potential for layering with other perfumes. I tried pairing it at a 1:2 ratio with Room 1015 Cherry Punk, and together they totally bloomed into something that was warm like honey, tart like cherry, and a little bit dark. I liked the combination more than I liked either perfume individually, and I’m sure that there are a ton of different ways that you could use Honey Metal to boost other perfumes and scents.
