Description

Christian Dior Homme Intense was released in 2011, created by Francois Demachy.  This is the stronger, eau de parfum, version of the original Dior Homme. It is a woody floral fragrance with notes of lavender, iris, ambrette seed, Virginia cedar, vetiver and vanilla. It is an eau de parfum, edp.

Reviews of Dior Homme Intense

From Basenotes - "n fragrances purporting to be fresh, I really don't like vanilla and other sweet notes. Give me dry dry dry. But this is sensuous late-night stuff, a sultry blend of flowery and vanilla darkened with something leatheresque. Like."

From Influenster - "This is the thicker, stronger, richer brother to the OG. It is so cozy and warm. The note break down has fewer notes than the original but it doesn’t smell that way. This is a great unisex sweet fall/winter fragrance."

From Scents Uncorked - "he woody base of Dior Homme Intense is simply delicious. Though chocolate is mentioned, it does smell like rich dark chocolate. Chocolate and woods, and some powdery iris, stuff to die for. This is a uber classy, expensive smelling, luxurious fragrance, try it if you haven’t till now."

    Dior Homme Intense

This was my first time trying a Dior Homme line. It’s a very lovely fragrance, especially suited for fall/winter, as it has that light spice and resin feel. I would’ve given it five stars except that it dissipates after about 4 hours to a skin scent. Still, all in all, it’s in the same vein as La Nuit de L’homme by YSL and The One by D&G.

    Dior Homme Intense

I don't think this is the best of the line but I find it to be the most wearable. I had to buy a bottle. I find it a bit-maybe-astringent compared to the original for the first maybe hour? The drydown is amazing and I think others will get it. But like anything fashion feel confident wearing it, because if it wears you it will show. If you don't get it that's fine. That's why we try things out.

    Don't understand the hype

I really wanted to love this fragrance due to the hype. It's a decent fragrance but I wouldn't buy it. The lipstick smell turns me off.

    Polarizing

I can see what all the hype about this. One of the few designer frags Ive tried so far that is this complex. Starts off as iris/orris root (yes; makeup bag/lipstick/waxy...which might come off as feminine...i prefer the term 'metrosexual'), but after an hour or two, you get cocoa powder, and yet even later you get the amber drydown (which is my favorite part). Excellent longevity (10 hours or so on me). If it had niche pricing it would be 4 stars, but for $80 for 100ml, its definitely 5 stars. Bought a full bottle after i tried a sample.

What's homme intense about a mild female smell?

This one is almost identical to the original Homme, and just as boring, for my money. It's all iris, which for me means all female. The point is that you gotta like iris. Some do, some don't. I like it as a background note, but certainly not front and center.
