Dior Tobacolor was created by Francois Demachy, who says this about the fragrance: "I wanted to revisit the classic composition of a 'tobacco' scent by creating a surprising trail around the paradox of a cold hookah. I wrapped the tobacco's characteristic smokiness with sweet, fruity and warm, joyful notes. Tobacolor is as powerful as it is cheery. It is an enveloping, comfortably endearing fragrance."
Tobacolor is a fragrance inspired by and centering on tobacco and a lot of honey. Surrounded by some happy fruit notes, like peach and plum. It has a definite BR540 feel. It is an eau de parfum, edp.
Dior’s luxury fragrance line La Collection Privée has been reimagined for 2018, offering a new way for you to be dressed in Dior. Rebranded as Maison Christian Dior, it goes beyond a collection of fragrances to become a somewhat ritualistic concept; that of perfuming and embellishing spaces and moments in your life. “When I create perfumes I flout technical constraints, schedules, fashions and trends,” Demachy explains of his artistic process. The fragrances in this collection are formed in families of Orientals, Florals, Sensuals, Light Florals and Fruity Florals, non-specific to gender but without being labelled ‘unisex’.
Fragrantica: "masterfully blended oriental perfume that is more on the masculine side in my opinion. Opens with tobacco but not the strong or ashy type of tobacco but the fresh leaf or if you know the smell of oriental kind of tobacco but fresh one! Immediately fresh peach and some plum in combination with bright honey they give to the perfume sweet fruity character that it doesn't become too cloying or too much."
Fragrantica: "This is a blast of tobacco to me, of course. But that sweet, edible honey grounds this fragrance beautifully. Every note is blended to perfection."
Fragrantica: "To me it smells like walking on a cold day in a Christmas market drinking mulled wine with a lot of cinnamon and smelling someone smoking a cigarette, with all the Christmas sweets around you. It’s by far my favorite gourmand-oriental."
