Diptyque L'Eau Papier Diptyque launched in 2023. A woody fragrance created by Fabrice Pellegrin, it has notes of white musk, mimosa, blonde woods and rice steam. This is the EDT, eau de toilette.
From the brand:
"As ink soaks into a sheet of white paper, shadows emerge. Worlds are invented. L'Eau Papier celebrates the power of the imagination – that moment, suspended in time, when ink, paper and the hand become one.
This encounter translated into perfume, takes us into the heart of musk and its multiple facets. Musk evolves, changes, expresses itself over time and from one skin to another, just as ink saturates paper, assuming its texture to conjure up dreams and images. In L'Eau Papier, white musks are delicately complemented by an accord of Rice Steam, evoking the grain of the paper. To these are added luminous notes of Mimosa, while a backdrop of Blonde Wood tones grounds L'Eau Papier in the material itself."
Diptyque L'Eau Papier Diptyque Reviews
Fragrantica - "Creamy, musky and a very easy to wear your-skin-but-better type of scent with a prominent rice note singing in the foreground."
Fragrantica - "white musk skeleton far away tahitian vanilla jar candle from target. like if in the sunlight outside you could smell the bones on a angry skeleton shaking a pewter sword at you, and you could smell the sword too. and like if deep in a dry cave behind it someone was burning a bunch of tahitian vanilla jar candles from target. like if books were for girls"
Fragrantica - "When I close my eyes as I take a sniff from Papier, I can "see" - smell -a totally fresh, right from the paper factory, paper sheet. The nice and kind one. The white and clean one. The child friendly one 6 years olds use in the classroom."
Fragrantica - "I am a huge fan of JHAG Not a Perfume Superdose (the original has no scent on me) and this is the most perfect slightly sweeter version without the heavier dose of Ambroxan. I absolutely love this!!"
Fragrantica - "I really love this perfume- it’s very understated so great for “no perfume” days. It opens on me with a great rice note. I am always looking for authentic rice smelling perfumes and this is it - but not for long. The fabulous rice disappears in about 10 mins leaving a very gentle fresh musk. I don’t really get mimosa but it adds a sweet powderiness. And there it remains. It is really delicate and Lo-fi, but without obvious use of ambroxan or iso e super. All those molecular scents smell like fish on me. So finally an understated musk perfume that is different and that I can wear. Unisex and longevity is about 6 hours, sillage is not very big. Edit. In the drydown the rice note comes back bit, though not as strongly. I also get woody notes combined with the musk."
